Chinese New Year 2013, books and reading

Happy Chinese New Year to those who are celebrating!  May the year of snake bring prosperity, great health and wealth to you and family :)

It was a simple celebration for me. I did’t even went back on the first day :P Non the less, I still got angpao, where my relatives would past the angpao to my Mum.

Cool huh still got angpao even I did’t go pai nien :D For your information although my looks and name could be deceiving, I do celebrate Chinese New Year. That is so great about mixed marriages! It is just I don’t know how many percent of the Chinese blood that is still in me. I’ll make effort to go to my relatives house next year since maybe it would be the last year to get angpao!

New books for me!

Thanks to Richard of http://wordspeakstoday.blogspot.com/ . I had featured his site before since I got my first book from him. Richard talks about the gospel and many issues relating to Christianity on his site. So my fellow brothers and sister in Christ, maybe you would be interested to visit Richard’s site.

Richard often gives free books every month

I am now currently reading the Book  Big God by Britt Merrick

I love the simple words and relativity of the content.  I haven’t touch the other book yet. Since Richard instruct me to give it to my favourite  preacher after I finish reading, I’ll do just that.

We have 1 week of holiday! Few days left. Happy Celebrating everyone

How much do you spent giving angpao and how much angpao did you received this year?

Sunday service at SIB Kinasaraban

>

Do you have a blessed Sunday?
I sure I have

my aunt Lonnie and my mom
see the school behind, thats the school I went for my SBE ^^

Today, me, my mom and two of my aunties
went for the Sunday church service at SIB KINASARABAN
my mother’s home town

the service suppose to start at 9am
but we arrive there at 9.15am
guess what the service start at 10.10am
its more than 1 hour late~!
so far they said thats the longest the time had been dragged
usually is start at 9.15am
but its very common among the churches here *NOT ALL churches*
especially at Kampungs
why?
I suppose Kampung people, the farmers had no other commitment
and Sunday are the time for God and fellowship with others
me, although lives in the town
understand the custom
steadily waits while reading the bible
*cewah, padahal balik2 tengok jam*

in front of the church compound
see the view
The church

the program for the day are
holy communion
cooking traditional food contest
Baptism

dancing sumazau for the Lord
see the bench? very old school right
only at kampung you can see this and its hand made
its more than 20 years my mom and aunties have not been to the church
although I was born in  KB town and raised there
going back to Kg Kinasaraban seems to very enlightening journey
we all definitely feel the Holy Spirit at the place
my tears can’t not stop falling
I can’t control it
good things my makeup are still intact :p
the village folks are also very blessed by our visit

aunt Lonnie and some old friends

then there are the cooking contest
at 2.30pm
we still have not had our lunch yet~!
*cara saya cakap macam tidak puas hati saja :P *
the pastor that gives the sermon * forgotten his name*, my mom and my aunt (Pastor Lucy)
are the judges
I am sure they had a hard time with my mom around *evil laugh*
finally, we start eating at 3.10 after they had decided the winner

pastor, my aunt and mom testing the food
still testing the food =.=”

ready to go home

after some chit-chat
we went home at 4pm

although it is a tiring day
*I went home and sleep until almost 6pm*
it is very seldom we had this kind of fellowship
and as Christians
we should strengthen one another
I am definitely coming back
God bless and hope you’ll have a Great week ahead
